The 2025 Jingle Ball in New York City was a massive hit. From swaying to Laufey’s magical lyrics to jumping up and down to Nelly’s song “Hot in Herre.” We are going to tell you, from a first person perspective, some memorable moments and how great the show was overall. This concert was filled with Christmas vibes and a magical ambience.
For the opening act, South Korean boy group Monsta X performed a few of their songs. We didn’t know who they were at first, but they brought some energy and it was a nice way to start the show.
Zara Larsson brought the dance vibes with her song Lush Life and her beats were by far the best. She even brought up one of her fans from the crowd to do the dance with her. She fit right in, and knew the dance by heart.
Our favorite artist there was Conan Gray, with his outstanding performance of his popular song, “Vodka Cranberry” from his latest album, Wishbone. His vocals were outstanding especially when belting out his song “Actor.” He brought back his old popular song from 2020 called “Heather,” a song about heartbreak, jealousy, and longing. Fans were screaming when he played the first note, as this song brings nostalgia and is relatable for many teens.
Laufey’s performance contrasted the more upbeat performers with her soulful sound. Our favorite songs that she sang were “From the Start” and “Lover Girl.” She also brought some Christmas cheer by singing two Christmas songs, “Santa Baby” and “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town.”
One thing that we were disappointed about was that BIGXTHAPLUG cancelled his performance last minute. We were looking forward to seeing him, after finding out about him from his song with Ella Langley, called “Hell At Night.”
For the final act, Ed Sheeran started off strong with “Shivers.” He also sang “Azizam” from his most recent album, Play. It was a hit, but of course he had to bring back iconic songs like shape of you and perfect. He was the biggest artist there, and a perfect choice for the last act.
Here is what some BHS students thought about the jingle ball.
Sophomore Iliana Fischer said, “I loved Zara Larsson’s performance, my favorite song she sang was Lush Life.”
Sophomore Peyton Michelena said, “I was just there for Conan Gray, and I think he did amazing.”
