The ICU World Cheerleading Championships took place from April 22 to April 24 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orland, bringing together elite cheer teams from around the world for a high-energy international competition.
Texas Tech University represented Team USA in the Pom division, delivering a sharp and synchronized routine that highlighted precision, clean formations, a full team standing back tuck, and strong performance quality.
In the hip-hop division, the University of Cincinnati represented Team USA. They brought intensity and creativity to the floor. Their dynamic choreography and confident stage presence captivated the audience and demonstrated the strength and versatility of Team USA.
A freshman at BHS shared,’’Both of these teams are so well deserving of receiving the title World Champions. They are incredibly talented and you can tell they worked so hard to achieve this dream.’’
Juliette Sparke, Sophomore at BHS, stated,’’I was so mindblown watching Texas Tech, they are insanely talented.’’
Held over three days, the championship showcased the growth and intensity as teams representing their countries pushed the limits of athleticism, artistry, and teamwork. Both Texas Tech and Cincinnati placed 1st for Team USA and are now World Champions.
