That’s a Wrap, Bethpage

If you have an open elective and are looking for a fun class to take, definitely consider Journalism. The class will help you grow as a writer and forces you to think creatively, both within the box and outside of it.

While Mr. Malossi was an outstanding teacher in AP Lang, his personality gets displayed more in Journalism. He’s no longer teaching a group of students in preparation for the AP exam; he’s trying to make a group run effectively as a newspaper staff in a productive yet relaxed environment. Mr. Malossi cultivated an air of positivity along the way, through the many personal anecdotes and funny youtube videos he shared.

I had the pleasure of serving as one of the Head Editors this year. It certainly appeared to be a daunting task at times, balancing a schedule for my own stories whilst editing and posting others, but overall it was manageable. There were some nights where I would stay up late just to spit out ideas built up in my mind, or take a look at stories on my list for editing. Journalism will return what you put in sevenfold, so if you decide to take this elective, make sure to fully immerse yourself to get the most out of it.

All the best to future Eagle’s Cry journalists.
