The real big question that everyone argues on. Does the Christmas season begin on November 1st, after Thanksgiving, or another time? This question has sparked debate and disagreements, but us at The Eagles Cry are here to figure out what majority rules. We interviewed BHS students and teachers to get their honest opinions.
After the clock strikes midnight on November 1, and Mariah Carey declares that “It’s time” on social media, some students and teachers go full christmas mode.
Sophomore Delilah Lasen admits, “I have literally started listening to Christmas music already.”
Senior Bridget Ackerman says, “Christmas should be celebrated all year round!
Mr. Walsh agrees, “Christmas season is the best, so why not make it 2 months instead of 1?”
Former Eagles Cry Writer Elizabeth Trimarco believes that, “Thanksgiving should be recognized and needs its own season!”
So, do the BHS students and staff believe Christmas season begins on November 1, Black Friday, or December 1?
After asking 41 BHS students and staff, here are the results:
November 1: 15 people (36%)
Black Friday (day after thanksgiving): 22 people (53%)
December 1: 4 people (9%)
Majority rules! Black Friday is the official beginning of the Christmas season!
