On Friday, June 5th, 2026, pop icon Taylor Swift released her latest song “I Knew It, I Knew You,” as collaboration for the new Toy Story 5 movie coming in theatres on June 19, 2026. This song dives back into her old country roots, which many fans have been craving to hear for many years. Swift wrote this song after she was shown a private screening of Toy Story 5, focusing on the perspective of the character Jessie and how she found her way back to someone who matters to her, in this case, Jessie’s owner in the movie. The big question is, what do people think about this song? Us at The Eagle’s Cry asked BHS teachers and students for their opinions.
Sophomore Julliete Sparke says:“I love the song and I love that she is going back to her country roots.”
“It sounds so nostalgic to her old music and she is the reason I will be seeing Toy Story 5.” said Junior Sophia Marullo.
Senior Tara Gyaltsen says, “It reminded me of her younger days and whens he started making music. I think it is really good!”
Junior Cali Zimniski says, “This song is perfect, 10 out of 10, everyone needs to go listen NOW. It’s just about as good as The Fate Of Ophelia.”
After it’s song’s release, Taylor Swift made an appearance at the Toy Story 5 premiere and performed her new song and “You’ve Got A Friend In Me” with Toy Story music icon Randy Newman.
So, give the song a listen for yourself! It’s got some country twang and a fun beat that Ms. Swift is known for.
