Dunkin vs Starbucks: BHS Reacts

Dunkin vs Starbucks: BHS Reacts

Dunkin and Starbucks. Two of the biggest coffee chains in the US, each with a devoted following of their own. For centuries, these two coffee businesses have been rivals. Students at Bethpage High School are usually spotted carrying either a coffee or a refreshment from one of the two establishments. The Eagles Cry questioned students on the best coffee shop.

These two coffee shops offer very different experiences to their patrons. Dunkin is fairly priced and has some amazing bargains on doughnuts and brunch. Conversely, Starbucks charges a higher price for their better coffee and drinks.

In my opinion, even if Starbucks is a more expensive option, their drinks—like the Strawberry Acai—are excellent. It is well worth the $5 to try the excellent Bacon Gouda Egg sandwich. Ordering food and beverages from Starbucks is quick and easy with their mobile ordering system. Dunkin’ coffee tastes like sewage water to me and lacks flavor. In general, Starbucks has more flavor. However, Dunkin’s donuts are amazing.

Junior, Madison Lewin disagreed. She said, “Dunkin has such a better taste—it tastes like real coffee.”

According to Olivia Greenfield, “Starbucks is incredible. Dunkin is never going to measure up. The refreshers taste absolutely amazing.”

Mr. Malossi disagrees with both viewpoints, though. He goes to 7/11 for his coffee!

Junior, Joe Ellinger said, “Starbucks is way too overpriced. Who pays $2 for a small cakepop?”

Nora Kerrigan said, “I get Starbucks tea everyday!”

As you can see, Bethpage students vary in coffee taste. Luckily for Bethpage students, there are both a drive-thru Starbucks AND Dunkin in walking distance from our school!
