Did you know the beloved New York Times game Wordle is expected to run out in late 2027 or early 2028? Many students here at BHS play the New York Times games on the daily, especially the Wordle.
This fascination started back in October 2021 during Covid. However, there are only about 2,300 words that were set to last about 6 years from its beginning. Now, they are planning to reuse words once the ending is hit. Some suggested changing the game to six letter words instead, but Tracy Bennett—Editor for Wordle—states they will be sticking to just five letters.
Students at Bethpage High School love doing the Wordle. Especially journalism students, as the staff here likes to complete it together in class.
Senior Sophia Donovan said she likes doing the Wordle because “it gives me a task to do every day.”
Grace Miller, does the Wordle daily “to beat Caroline. And when I’m bored in class.”
As the words that can be used are coming to an end, we hope Wordle continues as we are its biggest fans here at the Eagles Cry.
