As the weather changes, BHS students transition from winter to spring! Spring marks the end of winter. Spring is a season of renewal and transformation. Spring brings warmth, color, and new life into the land. Spring is one of the four temperate seasons and occurs after winter and before summer.
Signs of Spring: Warmer weather, blooming flowers, and longer days. Melting snow and running streams. Warmer temperatures and sunshine. Budding trees and blooming flowers. Singing birds return. Rain showers and rainbow frequency increases. Animals awaken from hibernation: bears, butterflies. Birds return from migration: robins, swallows. Baby animals are born: lambs, chicks, bunnies
Spring cleaning: At the beginning of spring, people use it as a chance to deep clean, declutter, and organize their spaces after winter. Picnics, hiking, gardening. Flying kites and photography. Visiting flower festivals.
Spring is more than a season. It’s a celebration of life. Spring is a season of new beginnings and hope. Spring unites us in celebration across cultures and countries: colorful festivals, outdoor adventure, or simple moments of peace in nature.
Peyton Michelena, a sophomore at BHS shared,’’ I am excited for flag football because it’s really fun and I get tan outside!’’
Juliette Sparke stated,’’I am very excited for spring track because I like running with my friends.’’
BHS students are excited for Spring because Spring sports begin! In the spring Bethpage High school offers baseball, softball, boys lacrosse, girls lacrosse, boys tennis, boys and girls track and field, and girls flag football.
I asked 60 BHS students if they are playing a spring sport and if so what sport, the results are below!
