The Bethpage baseball team finished their fifth and final regular season series last week. They played the second place team in the A3 conference, Hewlett. The boys entered the series with a 9-3 record which held them in front of Hewlett and placed them 5th overall in the county.

On Monday, The Eagles bested Hewlett 2-0. Gennaro was the winning pitcher for Bethpage. He went seven innings, allowing no runs on two hits, striking out seven and not allowing a single walk. Alex Purchick, Brody Paola, Patrick Dalton, Richie Gennaro, and Peter Schimmel all had hits to lead the Eagles to victory.

On Tuesday, Bethpage defeated Hewlett after a comeback 4-3. With this win the Eagles are the A3 Conference champions. Nick Wendling took the win on the mound. He held Hewlett to two runs over five innings and struck out six. Lucas Seely and Sean Dalton came out of the bullpen to secure the win. Patrick Dalton and Brian O’Boyle both had multiple hits in the game to lead the offense.
