BHS Senior Lauren Park has blessed this school with her presence since she moved to Bethpage for her junior year. Prior to BHS, Lauren attended Archbishop Molloy High School in Queens. I met Lauren in the fall of 2024 during the cross country season. Now that I have been best friends with her for almost two years, I consider myself qualified to attest to her many attributes.
Lauren Park’s most prominent quality is her intelligence. Anyone who knows her will also know she is an academic weapon. BHS freshman William Henry Sparke IV and sophomore Delilah Lasen both agree, using “smart,” and “genius,” to describe her in just a few words. Lauren is in four honor societies: English, Math, National, and Science. Challenging her wit, Will Sparke said, “she surrounds herself with denial,” in regards to their ongoing chess rivalry. Delilah Lasen defends her, though, saying “Lauren is an undefeatable champion.”
One of Lauren’s favorite hobbies is reading. Last year, she started keeping track of how many books she was reading, reaching 38 books by the end of 2025. In total, she has read about 90 books. She has recommended all of my favorite books to me, and I am very grateful for that. Her favorite book is Fearless by Lauren Roberts, and her favorite series is The Prison Healer series. The majority of the books she reads are fantasy and romance, so anyone interested in reading that genre would benefit in going to Lauren for recommendations. I really owe Lauren for how many amazing books she’s shown me.
Lauren has big ambitions for her future. She intends to become a PA, meaning a physician associate. She’s thinking of going to Hofstra University, and most likely majoring in biology. Ten years from now, she sees herself being rich. Hopefully that becomes a reality, and maybe she could share some wealth with me.
She’s not exactly a person of many words, but there’s no doubt she is an outstanding friend and student. Delilah Lasen said, “When you look at Lauren from afar, you’re slightly intimidated.” An interesting sentiment, though she went on to share Lauren’s welcoming attitude towards her when they first met. Delilah said “she was very nice to talk to.”
Overall, Lauren Park is an exceptional student of BHS, and deserves more recognition. She bakes the best banana bread, gets good grades, and treats all of her teachers and peers with respect and kindness.
