Bethpage played Floral Park on September 20th for the Golden Eageles’ home opener. The bleachers were packed and it was a very exciting game.

Floral Park, which is the third seed, and Bethpage—the ninth seed—played a very tight game! The Golden Eagles fought hard and lost with an ending score of 31-28 losing only by a field goal. The score was 17-0 in the first quarter but by half time the game score was 17-14 with Bethpage gaining momentum. It is very exciting to see that the Golden Eagles have playoff potential this season because last season the school was let down with the season ending with a record of 3-5.

Senior Andrew Reinhardt said, “We played an amazing game against Floral Park; it just didn’t end our way.”

The Golden Eagles played a second home game on September 27th and finished with a win they needed, destroying the Mineola Mustangs 57-2. As it comes towards the end of the 2024 football season, The Eagles are determined to make the playoffs. The games are filled with energy and they are eager to prove they are worthy of winning a championship this year!
