The weather gets colder, the thoughts of Christmas start to fade, and most people forget about our national holiday of food and gratefulness–Thanksgiving, a great day to spend time with family and eat delicious food.
In honor of this great holiday, The Eagle’s Cry asked BHS their favorite Thanksgiving foods. Here are the results:
Turkey
The main course of Thanksgiving. Shockingly, this wasn’t a popular consensus on our favorite Thanksgiving foods list.
Junior Haley Flaherty said, “I’m a big fan of turkey!”
Although Olivia Greenfield opposes and said, “I hate turkey so much because it’s so dry.”
Mashed potatoes
Mashed potatoes are a popular side dish that can be chunky or smooth. Olivia Greenfield and Madison Lewin concur on this being their top dish this Turkey Day.
Olivia said, “This amazing side dish really makes up for the horrible turkey.”
“I always go back for seconds!”, according to Madison.
The Sides
Stuffing. Green Bean Cassarole. Cranberry sauce. Buttered rolls. Mac and cheese. The possibilities are endless!
Nora Kerrigan has a different stance on her Thanksgiving plate: “Sides are definitely better than turkey. But I’d probably have to say mac and cheese or mashed potatoes.”
Nora hitting everyone with the unpopular opinion!
“I love when my dad makes us mac and cheese every year!” Sophia Lora said.
As you can tell, Bethpage High School is a big fan of Thanksgiving, especially the food.
Happy Thanksgiving, BHS!
