Newsday Recognizes BHS’s Lauren Bloom as Top 100 Softball Player

In a recent article highlighting the best softball players on Long Island, Newsday included Bethpage High School’s own Lauren Bloom in the top 100. Last season, she pitched to a 9-4 record with a 3.52 ERA while batting .278 with 12 RBI’s, earning her the accolade.

“I have worked hard all my life, and this honor shows that hard work really does pay off,” Lauren said.

Before she heads to Dowling College next year, Lauren hopes to lead BHS Varsity softball to a successful season. The team has started off with a 3-0 record in non-league games; the team’s first league game comes Wednesday, March 30th against Plainedge.
