Adventureland is closing right around the corner, ending its 2025 season on Sunday, October 26th. Adventureland is among the most popular and fun places to visit on Long Island. It has been an amusement park on Long Island since 1962. This amusement park has over 30 fun and exciting attraction rides. The place also has a variety of rides that includes thrill rides, kiddie rides, family rides, and water rides. It is placed as number one for “The 5 Best Long Island Water and Amusement Park” on Tripadvisor. Adventureland can be found in East Farmingdale and operates from weekends of September, October, March, April, May and all summer long. I will break down some rides that you should consider riding the next time you go to Adventureland!
- Turbulence Coaster
The Turbulence Coaster is the most popular ride at Adventureland. It was first introduced to the amusement park in 2015. It is the largest and only spinning roller coaster at Adventureland. This ride is a steel spinning roller coaster. The ride begins with a 180 degree turn out of the station and into the lift hill. The lift hill takes you up to 55 feet high and then goes for a main drop. Tara Gyaltsen, a BHS senior, said “The last time I went to Adventure Land, I was in middle school, but I liked going on the Turbulence, even though I always felt like I was about to throw up.”
- Moon Chaser
The Moonchaser is a thrill ride and opened last year at Adventureland. The ride includes spins, twists, flips, and inversions at a height of about 45 feet. This ride is not ideal for those with motion sickness. The ride is classified as a flat ride rather than a roller coaster. The ride also has a max capacity of 14 riders, which is great for big groups of friends or families.
- Frisbee
The Frisbee is an intense flat-thrill ride that opened in 2006 at Adventureland. It is one of the oldest rides at Adventureland. The ride has a large circular gondola, where the rides are seated, that rotates back and forth. The ride swings and spins at the same time, resulting in a dizzy experience. A senior at BHS, Paridhi Miglani, said “I really love going on this ride, it is so much fun.”
- FireBall
The Fireball is a steel roller coaster that opened in 2022 at Adventureland. The ride reaches a maximum of 68 feet and has 0 loops. This ride has 4 riders per car, having 2 people facing back to back. The car goes up a vertical chain lift hill then descends and swings. The ride gives a strong thrill motion and is more family friendly than other rides.
- Mystery Mansion
The Mystery Mansion is a dark and scary ride that opened in 2018 at Adventureland. The ride is a two story mansion house ride. The ride has a haunted mansion theme with a chilling atmosphere. It consists of animatronics, spooky audio, and visual effects. This ride is a two person person minimum ride and must be 54 inches tall to ride alone.
