Although all her songs/albums are amazing, some go above and beyond. Here’s our top 5 favorite songs and albums.
#1:Ocean Eyes
This song was Billie Eilish’s first debut in 2015 going into the singing industry. It immediately went viral and she started gaining popularity. We feel the song expresses her emotions while falling in love. “I’ve never fallen from quite this high, fallin’ into your ocean eyes.”
#2: Wildflower
Wildflower is about the guilt and internal conflict of dating a friend’s ex-boyfriend, a situation Billie Eilish described as “breaking girl code.” The song expresses feelings of anxiety and the struggle to move past the emotions of a past relationship. “She was your girl, you showed her the world, but fell out of love and you both let go.”
#3: TV
Billie Eilish’s song “TV” made in 2022 expresses feelings of isolation, self-blame and desire to escape reality by watching TV. The song touches on issues of failing in a relationship, growing apart from friends and struggling with depression in a dangerous world. “All of my friends are missing again. That’s what happens when you fall in love. You don’t have the time, you leave them all behind. You tell yourself it’s fine, you’re just in love.”
#4: The Greatest
This song is from her album, “Hit me Hard and Soft.” It describes the pain of a one sided affection, by using sarcasm she shows how her love was not reciprocated and how her relationship had no passion. “I loved you, and I still do. Just wanted passion from you, just wanted what I gave you. I waited and waited.”
#5: What Was I Made For?
This song was included in the 2024 Barbie movie. It is an emotional song that deals with the concepts of identity crisis and questioning one’s purpose in life. In the movie it reflects Barbie’s fear as she confronts her place in the world, and the pressure of being perfect and social expectations. “I don’t know how to feel, but someday I might… When did it end? All the enjoyment. I’m sad again. Don’t tell my boyfriend, it’s not what he’s made for. What was I made for?”
