Charlie Kirk was a 31 year old conservative and a close ally of President Trump. On September 10, 2025 he was tragically shot at Utah Valley University on stage. His wife and two young children were also in attendance at this event.
This tragedy outraged officials from both political parties because it promoted political violence. The investigation on the event was ongoing, however, on September 12th, 2025 Tyler Robinson was turned in by his dad after he confessed.
Graphic images posted online show Mr. Kirk’s head jerk back as blood poured out of his neck, along with rooftop videos of the possible shooter on a rooftop 150 feet away running out after shooting him.
President Trump openly mourned Mr. Kirk’s death on his social media:
“The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead… He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me , and now, he is no longer with us.”
BHS Senior Tasnim Adhree said, ” Charlie Kirk’s death forever changed the politics of our country and his legacy might cause further divide. His death also exemplifies perfectly how gun violence does not discriminate. Anyone can be a victim of gun violence, and as a nation we need to do something about it.”
Journalism teacher Mr. Malossi said, “It would be a tragedy no matter who was speaking up there. Kirk was engaging with college kids, teaching argument skills. Yes, he was biased as all political commentators are, but he was doing the dirty work of free speech–not hiding behind a keyboard or a Youtube channel.”
Regardless of political views, Charlie Kirk’s death was tragic, especially to his one year old son and three year old daughter. His children witnessed their father die, and setting aside political differences, as a human, this is nothing short of disgusting.
The Eagle’s Cry sends condolences to his wife and kids.
