As the month of May quickly approaches, there is only one thing on BHS students minds: AP Exams. Starting on May 5th, AP testing week will begin, and today The Eagle’s Cry shares the best tips for students during these stressful times.
We are aware that this time can be extremely stressful for students, so we recommend staying on top of studying but also leaving time for yourself to relax.
Julia Baumbach said, “Sometimes studying can be really overwhelming, so I prefer to do it in sections and take breaks to decompress.”
That is definitely a good way to organize your studying habits! Good ways to take your mind off exams could be going for a walk or listening to music.
As the weather is starting to get nicer, some students prefer to take their studies outside to get some sun and fresh air.
Eva Neamonitis said, “Sometimes sitting in your room for too long studying can get boring and make you feel tired. I find it helpful to enjoy the weather and study at the same time to increase productivity.”
When it comes to studying schedules, staying organized is key! It may be more beneficial to leave yourself some time each day to study rather than cramming it all a couple of days before. We still have 10 days until the beginning of testing, so try to space out your studying beforehand.
Zach Fradella said, “Cramming never works. Students should set up a schedule for themselves to do a little each day.”
It is important to remember during this time that your teachers are here to help! Many teachers offer study sessions after school during extra help that many students find extremely helpful with curriculum review. If your schedule does not align with your teachers, the academic center is always open for extra help as well.
If you prefer studying at home on your own, there are many online resources, although some may cost money, that can help you prepare for your exams. YouTube is a great resource to find unit review videos or helpful exam tips, but the College Board website also offers practice exams and questions.
Nora Kerrigan said, “Heimler History Review saved me on my APUSH exam last year!”
This year, almost all AP exams have transitioned to online testing, so if any students need to get their Chromebook fixed or switched for a loaner, please don’t forget to do so in the library before exams begin on the 5th.
Most importantly: CHARGE YOUR CHROMEBOOKS THE NIGHT BEFORE YOUR EXAM! Don’t be that guy showing up to your online exam…with a dead Chromebook.
Linked below is the 2025 AP Exam Schedule that shares the date, time, and location of your exams to ensure everyone is where they need to be when they need to be.
We wish all BHS students the best of luck on their APs, and remember, no matter what grade you get, a number does not define you!
