Earlier this offseason, Juan Soto left the Yankees in free agency, signing a 15 year $765 million dollar deal with the New York Mets.
The signing left Mets fans happy that they weren’t the “Little Brother” anymore and Yankee fans frustrated with the Dominican star.
This time, the Mets finally came out on top. With Soto heading off to Queens for what is likely the rest of his career it is important that Soto feels at home there. And that’s where the problem comes in…
As spring training ramps up a lot of attention has been placed on how Soto is adapting to The Mets. On March 3rd, Mets insider Andy Martino dropped an interesting quote. He explained that while Soto is acclimating to the Mets, he misses his time with the Yankees as he saw it as a great learning opportunity to play there.
Well…
Soto had the opportunity to be a Yankee for life, but he took an extra $5 million to head to the Mets. Yankee fans and Mets fans across the country are reacting to this report but what does BHS think?
Mets fan Andrew Almonte is in denial of the news: “No. He loves it with the Mets. That report is dead wrong.”
On the other hand an anonymous Yankees fan explained, “Of course he misses it. He is realizing that he signed with the Yankees little brother. He had his chance and blew it, I hope he hates his time with the Mets.”
It’s clear that this news stirred up a little controversy within BHS but the bigger question is: Does Soto wish he signed with the Yankees?
Only time will tell…
