Welcome Back, BHS! Today, The Eagle’s Cry will be discussing February Break activities and discovering what BHS students were up to last week!
The first day of break happened to be Valentine’s Day, letting us all celebrate not only a week off of school but our loved ones as well.
Julia Baumbach said she “went to the city for a nice romantic dinner” with her boyfriend Joe Ellinger!
On the other hand, Izzy Romero said she “celebrated the day with her girlies at Galentine’s dinner” during the week.
Either way, these are both great ways to spend this special day with the ones you love! We hope you all had a loving and wonderful Valentine’s Day last week!
Additionally, Bethpage High School’s own Golden Girls Varsity Kickline Team ventured to Orlando, Florida, early in the break for NDA Nationals!
Katie O’Callaghan, co-captain of the team, said, “We had so much fun! It was nice to get out of the cold for a couple of days and dance with all my girls!”
Abby O’Hara, another co-captain and senior veteran, said, “There was no better way and no better people to spend my last nationals with!”
The Golden Girls placed sixth for their kick routine and made it to the semi-finals for their pom routine! Here at BHS, we are so proud of all the kickline girls have accomplished this season and cannot wait to see what’s in store for next year. For the seniors of the team, we are so sad to see you leave, but we are so proud of everything you have done as a Golden Girl and wish you all the best in your future endeavors.
For those of you who are seniors, the college search is beginning to wind down, making February Break the perfect time to go on all your visits and tours of any schools you’re interested in.
Lauren Kelly shared, “I went to visit Marist University over break for the second time and knew that I was going to go there after my visit.”. The first day back from break, she committed to Marist! Congratulations, Lauren!
Joe Ellinger said that he visited SUNY Maritime during the week off and loved it! “I really liked that it was on the water. I could totally see myself going there,” he expressed.
We wish all seniors the best of luck with their college search as commitment day slowly approaches! If you were not able to visit any schools over Feb break, there are many other times that are great for visiting schools, so don’t worry!
We hope you all had a great break and wish everyone luck with the rest of their school year! Please feel free to reach out to any Eagle’s Cry writers if you are interested in being featured in our next article!
