On Saturday, November 30, 17-year-old ice hockey defenseman Connor Kasin passed out during an intermission at a charity hockey game at the Town of Oyster Bay Ice Rink, right across the street from BHS. Massepequa senior suffered a “medical event” that has yet to be disclosed that led to his unexplained death.
Shortly after passing out, civilians attempted to do CPR until medics arrived. He was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. Authorities are still trying to discover the exact cause of death.
Mrs. Miller expressed, “As a mother, I feel for the parents.”.
The game was in honor of Syosset alum Sabrina Navaretta, who passed away in a car crash last year.
Zachary Fradella said, “I didn’t know him, but it’s very scary and sad what happened.”.
The Bethpage community and hockey team expressed their condolences to the Kasin family and Massepequa community. The counseling center is open for any students in need of support.
