As the 2024 fall season came to an end, the Bethpage girls varsity volleyball team finished off their season with a 13-2 record. Competing in Conference 5, where only the top two teams advanced to the playoffs, the Eagles narrowly missed the cut, finishing just a spot short in third place.
Although the team did not secure a playoff spot, this outcome does not reflect the dedication and hard work they have put in throughout the season. From preseason open gyms over the summer to two hour practices after school each day, they worked tirelessly 24/7. Compared to last year’s 2-13 finish, the Golden Eagles have made significant growth.
Head Coach of the Girls Varsity Volleyball team, Anne DiPrima had a pleasure working with this group of girls. Coach DiPrima has led the team for 54 years and has seen so much talent. When asked what her favorite thing about the team was she answered with “their passion for the sport, their compassion for others and the fun we had being together.” One of her favorite memories from the season was senior day watching how close her team became and thinking back on years gone by.
Senior and right-side hitter Julia Coscino has played volleyball for Bethpage for 5 years. When asked how she felt about the season ending she responded with, “I feel very sad because I have played my whole school career and have made many amazing memories.” Julia is going to miss “getting to play with [her] closest friends.”
Overall every member of the Bethpage Girls Varsity Volleyball team had a great time during the season and is clearly very sad about it ending. Great job girls!
