It’s common knowledge that New York has the best bagels around, but with so many options which is truly the best? Here are the BHS rankings of local bagel spots:
- Town Bagel
Town Bagel is very highly rated here at BHS. The Plainview location is so popular that the line goes out the door! Despite this, the friendly staff ensures a fast moving line. As seen in the photo above, Town Bagel is a popular lunch spot for The Eagle’s Cry editors.
Senior Joe Ellinger said, “Town Bagel has the best BECS by far!”
Senior Emma Krittman said, “I love their macaroni salad.”
- Gold & Meyers
Although located over in Plainview, BHS students rave about Gold & Meyers bagels! Besides great bagels, they offer a variety of spreads, including traditional cream cheeses and other unique options like Oreo cream cheese that really elevate any bagel.
Senior Olivia Greenfield said, “Gold & Meyers is my family’s go-to bagel spot.”
- Bagel Boss
Open 24 hours, Bagel Boss is a must-visit for bagel enthusiasts. Offering fresh bagels in a variety of unique and classic flavors, snacks, and delicious cream cheese spreads, including vegan and gluten-free options. The friendly staff and casual atmosphere make it a perfect spot for a quick meal.
Bagel Boss employee and Bethpage senior Lily Kovac said, “We’re open 24 hours, so we always sell everything freshly made! Also, the bagels are yummy, and it’s a very homey environment! We were also rated second on Long Island!”
Overall, it’s a fantastic spot for a breakfast or lunch!
- Central Avenue Bagels
Central Avenue Bagels is a Bethpage staple. Serving up fresh bagels with a fantastic all of our favorite flavors and tasty spreads. Additionally, the friendly staff ensures a quick and enjoyable experience. Overall, Central Ave. Bagels is great spot for a delicious breakfast!
Senior Kate Cusack said, “Not only do they have great bagels, they also have great snacks to grab!”
- Stuff-A-Bagel
Although Stuff-A-Bagel is the most convenient bagel spot for most BHS students, it is one of the most unpopular. The most common complaints include the $10.00 minimum to charge, the plexi-glass barriers between the customers and cashiers, and the longer wait compared to previously mentioned spots. However, some BHS students place Stuff a Bagel at the top of their ranking.
Senior Sophia Lora said, “I love their wraps, every time I go there it’s delicious.”
Junior Sami Mertz said, “Stuff-A-Bagel is by far the best!”
While others like Senior Zach Fradella said, “I hate Stuff-A-Bagel…the $10.00 minimum is so annoying and so are the COVID barriers.”
