From the ripe age of four our very own Zachary Fradella–lovingly referred to as “Frach” here at The Eagle’s Cry–had one ambition: to be a garbage truck driver. Soon after, at the age of seven Frach, decided he would become a pilot. Ten years later, his goal remains the same. In fact, he just took a pivotal step in his piloting career– his first solo flight.
Frach took his first flight with an instructor when he was 11 years old. Up until the age of 16, Frach flew once a year as a fun extracurricular activity. More recently, Frach flies up to three times a week. The furthest he has ever flown, with an instructor, was to Bridgeport, CT. Last week, Frach completed his first solo landings and next week he will begin cross countries where he will soon fly solo to CT.
Frach said, “I was not nervous when I got in the plane alone. I was super excited, I have been waiting for this moment for a long time.”
In addition to piloting, Frach enjoys his position as head editor of The Eagle’s Cry, playing on BHS Varsity Baseball and Golf.
Frach plans on majoring in Aviation Flight Science with Flight, taking an important step to achieving his dream. He has already been accepted to two flight programs!
Frach hopes to be a commercial pilot after college. We wish him the best of luck in all of his piloting endeavors!
So next time you look up into the sky and see a Piper Archer Plane, wave up at the sky, it might just be Frach!
