Many different artists grace our Spotify playlists. Pop, country, rock, and hip-hop singers, just to name a few genres. But listeners tend to have a favorite singer, whether that is based on their musical ability, or their personality. That’s why I’ve decided to interview a couple of BHS students about some popular music artists.
Taylor Swift
In my opinion, Taylor Swift is the best singer. With her amazing songs and breathtaking performances, she remains to be one of the most popular singers in the world. Not only is she packed with talent, she is very generous to her fans, tour crew and charities. She always spreads kindness and is an overall kind person.
Swift‘s music is most definitely enjoyed by others. BHS Senior Sophia Lora agrees: “Her music and lyrics are very heartfelt. You can interpret them in many ways.”
Lana Del Rey
Another fan favorite in BHS is singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey. Senior Mabel Dong explains, “I grew up listening to her music.” Madison Lewin, a senior, agrees: “I relate to her music. My favorite album is “Did You Know There’s A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd.”
Chappell Roan
A fairly new artist, Chappell Roan, has been quite popular recently. Her quote is that she is your “favorite artist’s favorite artist,” which people have seen is true. BHS senior Joanna Scharen says, “I love the way she expresses herself through style.” She adds, “My favorite song of hers is Femininomenon.” However, BHS senior Julia Baumbach feels differently about Roan. She feels “it’s ridiculous that she gets mad at her fans for taking photos with her.” She adds, “I don’t get why she got angry at some of her fans for not participating in her viral ‘HOT TO GO!’ dance.”
Olivia Rodrigo
Another BHS favorite is Olivia Rodrigo. She is a huge pop star and has been growing in popularity throughout the years. BHS sophomore Amanda Schneider says about Rodrigo, “She has a really great voice and her music is really uplifting.” However, BHS Senior Joseph Ellinger feels differently about the pop star. He says, “I don’t like her and her music. She just complains in her songs.” Wow, Joe has a strong opinion on Rodrigo!
Those were BHS’ favorite (and least favorite) music artists. Hopefully this inspires you to listen to a song or two by these artists!
