BHS Student Spotlight: Kathleen Krummenacker

BHS Student Spotlight: Kathleen Krummenacker

Senior Kathleen Krummenacker recently competed at the Section VII track and field state qualifiers meet in high jump. From jumping 4 ‘4 her first season freshman year, Kathleen has worked hard and come a long way. Kathleen has had a stellar indoor season this year jumping a personal record of 4’ 10 early on in the season at the Nassau Coaches Invitational. She matched her PR at the Class B Counties meet to earn All County Honors. On top of being an active member of the winter and spring track and field team, Kathleen was the quarterback on our girl’s flag football team. She is also the president of the Science National Honor Society and is also a member of multiple clubs including Red Cross and the senior class.

What were your thoughts going into the state qualifiers meet?

I was nervous to be competing against so many talented athletes, but overall I was glad for the opportunity to learn from them and watch the different techniques they use as jumpers to enhance my own abilities.

What are your hopes for your upcoming spring season?

Before my senior year is over I would like to jump a new pr of 5ft. I know I am capable of accomplishing this goal and want to keep working towards it. I am also excited to see our flag football team’s performance this year. We will use our experience from last year to better ourselves as a team.

What are some of your jobs you do as president of the Science National Honor Society?

I organize community events to raise money for donations to charity as well as inform our community through science related activities such as our upcoming STEM night at our local elementary schools.

What will you miss most about BHS when you graduate?

I am going to miss the opportunities this school offers and the strong support system from my coaches, teachers, parents, and friends who have all helped me become a strong leader.

The Eagle’s Cry Staff is all so proud of Kathleen and all of her accomplishments!
