Since the new Hunger Games movie was recently released, there has been a big debate between which of Katniss’ love interests is the best. The Eagles Cry interviewed BHS students to see if they are Team Gale or Team Peeta.

Most of the students had bias when being interviewed, leaning towards Peeta. Although Peeta may have not been with Katniss originally, like Gale, Peeta is seen as the better partner to Katniss by most.

Ms. Whalen, an English teacher at BHS, claimed that Peeta is better than Gale because he is “the more loyal and understanding choice.” Many would say this is true because Peeta gave Katniss bread when she was hungry, showing Peetas compassion. 

On the other hand, Mr Lynch, another teacher at  BHS said that he was “100% team Gale, as any normal human would be” because “Peeta is the bread boy and is always trying to lecture Katniss.” Mr. Lynch acknowledged that “Gale liked Katniss before the Hunger Games.” Many could say this is a hot take because Gale is ultimately the person who killed Prim. 

Gabby Kilmetis,a junior at BHS, claims that she doesn’t “know who Gale is” and because of this she is “team Peeta.” It’s clear to see that the obvious favorite is Peeta, and Peeta is the more known character. 

A junior at BHS, Eva Neamonitis, believes that “Peeta is better than Gale” because “[her] friend, Lauren Kachadourian, persuaded [her].” Eva has never personally seen the films, but has seen clips on TikTok.
