2022 Homecoming Recap — Golden Eagles WIN!

On October 22, Bethpage High School held their annual homecoming game against Carey High School. Prior to the game, each grade had a car float for the parade; there were the Famous Freshmen, the Spooky Sophomores, the Jersey Juniors, and the Safari Seniors. Not only were there current high schoolers in the parade, but there were future and past Eagles. PAL football, kickline, cheer, and the 1972 football team also walked in the parade.

Gabby Hernandez, one of the students who walked in the parade, explains, “It was very fun and cool to see many families come out to support the school.”

The parade went from the Bethpage Train Station, down Stewart Avenue, and to the football field. Most of Bethpage lined the streets to watch the parade and kids were even given candy from the Kickline team. Before the game, we honored the four Kickline seniors and the ten band seniors.

Fortunately, Bethpage beat the Carey Seahawks with a score of 33-20, making the Bethpage Golden Eagles record 5-2. During half time, the audience got to see the band, JV and Varsity Kickline perform.

Sophia Lora was one of the JV cheerleaders who performed during halftime. Sophia commented, “It was fun dancing with everyone and feeling like a community.”

Additionally, we recognized the undefeated 1972 Golden Eagles Football team. Most of the team attended the game to support the new generation of The Bethpage Eagles. The support demonstrated by the alumni truly embodies the saying “Once an Eagle, Always an Eagle.”
