Netflix is on top of its game adding new shows and movies. Personally, for me, I stopped watching Netflix shows for a while but decided to get back into some Netflix shows as I finished the college process. I decided to watch some of the most-watched shows today come from Netflix.  

Ginny and Georgia 

Ginny and Georgia is a comedy-drama series starring Antonia Gentry as Ginny and Brianne Howley (Georgia). It was created by Sarah Lampert and was released on February 24th, 2021. The story follows with a fifteen-year-old girl named Ginny who seems to be more mature than her mother (Georgia) in a New England town where they both settle down with her son and daughter in hopes of giving them a better life than she had. I thought the show was alright but it isn’t something I would rewatch. Rolling Stone gave it a 3/5 and compared it to The Gilmore Girls. If you watched the Degrassi series you would see familiar faces and think like it’s like a mini-reunion. 

Bridgerton 

Bridgerton is a romance drama starring Rege Jean Paige as Simon Bassett and Phoebe Dvyenor as Daphne Bridgerton. It was created by Chris Vas Dusen and produced by Shona Rhimes. It is based on Julia Quinn’s novel series Bridgerton. It was released on December 25, 2020. The story follows the competitive world between the Regency era’s London ton. It becomes Netflix’s most-watched series. Personally, I don’t really like shows that have to do with history or when it is too serious. However, my friend enjoyed this show very much and is anxiously waiting for the next season it will continue for 6 more seasons as the series follows. 

Cobra Kai 

Cobra-Kai is an action fiction series starring Xolo Maridulena (Miguel Diaz) and Ralph Macchio(Daniel Larusso). The series is created by Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg. Ralph Macchio and William Zabka reprised their roles as Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawerence from the 1984 Karate Kid. Cobra Kai reexamines Johnny’s point of view and his decision to reopen Cobra Kai dojo and rekindling his old rivalry with Daniel. It was first released on Youtube 2018 but Netflix acquired streaming rights in June 2020. Cobra Kai’s third season has been released on January 1, 2021, and there have been many positive reviews. Due to the positive response, it already has been renewed for another season. I actually enjoyed this series because I enjoy action series like this and enjoyed Karate Kid when I was little. 

Julie and the Phantoms 

Julie and the Phantoms is an American comedy-drama series based on the Brazillian series Julie e os Fantasmas. The series starred Madison Reyes (Julie) and Charlie Gillespie(Luke). The series was directed and produced by Kenny Ortega. Kenny Ortega is known for his famous works like Hocus Pocus, Dirty Dancing, Newsies, and The High  School Musical movies. Julie and the Phantoms reveals a story about a teenager Julie who lost her passion for music after her mom passed away. But she finds her passion for music while helping a trio of ghostly guys in her garage who died 25 years ago called Sunset Curve.
