Student Spotlight: Kyle Issing

Kyle Issing, a Junior in Bethpage High School, decided to play for the varsity baseball team this year. A lack of trust in the young player, due to not playing as a sophomore led the coaches to not play him. Kyle is a starting pitcher for the Titans, a travel team, and when he isn’t pitching, he plays outfield, along with making the batting lineup every game. Kyle is also currently ranked top 100 in New York State. His highschool career is a little different, he didn’t play at the beginning do to politics in the system, yet hard work payed off and Kyle found himself starting on the mound. In the 3 games he pitched he Managed to beat the top 2 teams in the league, Wantagh and Division, and he got no decision against Plainedge— Kyle was pulled from the game with a 5-1 lead and that’s when the game went downhill. Junior, J.P. Cheslowitz says “He pitched a good game but he sadly did not get the result he wanted but he had an incredible season with some key wins.” Through hard work and preservation he managed to show the Coaches he can be a key player to the team his senior year and win them a spot in the playoffs.
