The 2016 Junior Banquet: A Great Time Had by All
On April 16th, Bethpage High school Juniors had their very own Junior Banquet.
It was a rite of passage for the juniors (and some seniors) , with students adorned in gorgeous gowns and rented tuxedos. Many rolled up to the aux gym via limo and minivan.
The The Great-Gatsby-themed banquet was a great success this year, and was fitting considering everyone read the novel this year. The whole night consisted of music, food, and pictures. Everyone seemed to have a remarkable time. “It was a lot of fun decorating and getting everything ready for prom. Seeing it all come together and watching everyone enjoy it was great,”Junior class secretary Selena Phan said.
The gym roared with laughter and loud music during the three hours allotted to dance and revelry. “I thought the prom itself was a really fun experience, everyone looked amazing and it was so nice to just let loose with my friends and have a good time,” said Kiersten Bloom.
Not everything was perfect, however. Grace Jang said, “The music selection wasn’t my favorite but I loved taking pictures and had such a great night.” Even if everything wasn’t ideal for every single individual, for the most part, the 2016 Junior banquet was a great success!
