Golden Eagles Golf Dominates Conference IV
Once again, the Bethpage Varsity Golf team completed another dominant season, going 12-0 and winning the conference four title for a second consecutive year.
The conference consists of teams: Island Trees, Levittown, Farmingdale, Massapequa, Clark High School, Plainedge, and Bethpage. Massapequa put up a good fight with our team, but otherwise, in Coach Hayes’ words,” we played every team twice and we smacked all of them.”
Senior Liam Miller, junior Sara Suazo, sophomore Alex Friedman, and freshman Alex Keener were key performers in bringing the team its continued success. Freshmen Blake von der Esch and Kevin Williams also has successful seasons that contributed to all of the team’s wins.
The key to the group’s success, said Coach Hayes, was that “every player held golf as their number one sport and really honed in on their play.”
In the third week of May, the county championship will be held on Bethpage State Park’s Black course, where the Golden Eagles team will look to complete a perfect season.
